Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Security Engineer – Operations to join us in the Mumbai office. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with firewalls (particularly FortiGate), VPN configuration, and a deep understanding of security threat vulnerability analysis. This role involves direct customer engagement for onboarding and support, firewall policy management, incident resolution, and active involvement in audit and compliance processes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead customer onboarding for firewall-related configurations including access policies and VPN setup.
Create and manage firewall rules, NAT policies, and IPSec/SSL VPN tunnels.
Provide operational support and troubleshooting for FortiGate firewalls.
Collaborate with customers to resolve incidents and fulfil service requests.
Maintain detailed documentation for configurations, incident reports, SOPs, and change logs.
Gather and provide audit evidence for compliance teams; assist in closing audit findings.
Support vulnerability assessments, assist in remediation tracking, and ensure timely issue resolution.
Provide support for Palo Alto, Checkpoint, and other firewall platforms as needed.
Work with Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and contribute to API Security implementation.
Stay informed about evolving cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies.
Participate in rotational shifts (including nights/weekends) to ensure 24x7 operational coverage.
Required Skills & Qualifications
3 to 5 years of experience in security operations.
Hands-on expertise in managing FortiGate firewalls (rule management, VPNs, troubleshooting).
Good understanding of IPSec and SSL VPN technologies.
Working knowledge of Palo Alto, Checkpoint, or similar enterprise firewall platforms.
Experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and API Security concepts.
Familiarity with cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and response tactics.
Exposure to vulnerability management and audit support activities.
Strong documentation and English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Customer-oriented mindset with a professional approach to issue resolution.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including off-hours and weekends.
Certifications (Preferred)
Fortinet NSE4 (Associate or Professional level) – required or strongly preferred
Additional certifications such as:
CompTIA Security+
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
Palo Alto (PCNSA, PCNSE)
Checkpoint (CCSA, CCSE)
Other relevant vendor or industry certifications
