Role: Technology Programme Manager – Global POS Transformation

Location: Reading or Dublin (Hybrid)

Day Rate Contract 

Contract: Initial 6 Months

Primark is embarking on one of its most ambitious technology transformations yet—modernising our Global Point of Sale (GPOS) systems across all markets. We’re looking for a seasoned Technology Programme Manager to lead this high-impact initiative that redefines customer engagement at the front line. This is your chance to play a critical role in a global retail transformation programme of exceptional scale and complexity.

What You’ll Be Driving

As Programme Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of the GPOS transformation across multiple countries—owning timelines, budgets, governance, and execution. You’ll manage complex interdependencies, steer technical teams and vendor relationships, and ensure world-class outcomes on time and to spec. This role requires hands on technical leadership, getting into the detail of the programme. A strategic thinker, comfortable communicating with senior stakeholders and 3rd party vendors.

Key Requirements

We are specifically seeking individuals with:

Deep technical programme leadership experience within large-scale retail transformations

Hands-on delivery of EPOS or POS transformation programmes across multi-country environments

Proven track record in technical budget ownership (£multi-million scope)

Expertise in programme governance (RAID, planning, reporting, change control)

Strong supplier & vendor management (including SOWs and commercial oversight)

Extensive experience leading distributed technical teams across infrastructure, integration, data migration, testing & in-store device rollout

Command of structured methodologies such as PRINCE2, MSP, or PMP

Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, capable of influencing at C-suite level

Your Collaboration Zone

Partner with business and technical leads to ensure workstreams are aligned to strategic goals

Coordinate across retail ops, finance, and market teams for seamless delivery

Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security and data privacy standards

Drive continuous improvement and operational readiness across geographies

Desirable Extras

Experience with EPOS platforms such as Flooid or GK

Background in high-volume retail environments

Understanding of omni-channel integrations and cloud architecture (Azure, Google)
