About the Role

Specialist - Automation

We are seeking a skilled and proactive specialist to join our Automation Design team at Flipkart. This role demands hands-on experience in warehouse automation, electronic controller design, and industrial automation systems. You will be instrumental in leading automation initiatives, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and efficient automation solutions for our facilities.

About the team

Specialist - Automation Design

The automation team at Flipkart leads the end-to-end design and implementation of warehouse automation and robotics projects. These include advanced sortation systems, smart storage solutions, and automated movement technologies. The team has been at the forefront of innovation, delivering several industry-first solutions tailored specifically for Flipkart’s supply chain needs.

You are Responsible for

• Lead the solution design, development, and deployment of warehouse automation systems for Flipkart.
• Collaborate, Support and review solutions designed for automation projects
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth system design, integration and go-live
• Support on-site commissioning and provide technical troubleshooting during installation and commissioning phase.
• Ensure all automation designs comply with industry safety standards and operational performance benchmarks.

To succeed in this role – you should have the following

- Understanding of system architecture, PLC programming, HMI/SCADA design, Wiring schematics, industrial networking (MODBUS, PROFINET)
- ROI modeling, cost-benefit analysis, risk management, vendor evaluation and strategic sourcing
- Influence across engineering, product, and operations teams
