Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and service-oriented IT Support Specialist to join our technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to employees and clients for computer systems, hardware, software, and network-related issues. You will troubleshoot problems, install and configure hardware and software, and ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues
- Respond to support requests via phone, email, ticketing system, or in person
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively
- Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and software
- Set up and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions
- Support remote employees with connectivity and access issues
- Maintain IT documentation, inventory records, and user guides
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level support or vendors as needed
- Monitor systems and networks to ensure optimal performance and uptime
- Ensure adherence to IT security protocols and best practices
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in an IT support/helpdesk role
- Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and/or Linux environments
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and common business applications
- Good understanding of networking (LAN, WAN, VPN, TCP/IP)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or similar
- Experience with ticketing systems like ServiceNow, Zendesk, or Freshservice
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS)
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and practices
