Key Responsibilities

  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the director, producers, and other key stakeholders to understand the artistic vision and goals of the project.
  • Camera Operation:
    • Operate cameras and other essential equipment to capture high-quality, dynamic shots.
    • Select appropriate lenses, framing, and camera movements to enhance the storytelling and visual impact.
  • Lighting:
    • Design and set up lighting schemes that enhance the mood and tone of each scene.
    • Collaborate with the director to achieve the desired visual aesthetic.
  • Shot Composition:
    • Develop shot lists and contribute creative input to scene composition.
    • Ensure that shots are well-framed, balanced, and visually engaging.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Stay updated on the latest advancements in cinematography equipment and techniques.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues related to cameras, lighting, and other equipment.
  • Pre-production Planning:
    • Participate in pre-production meetings to discuss visual concepts, shot sequences, and technical requirements.
    • Assist in location scouting and make recommendations for optimal visual storytelling.
  • Post-production Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with the post-production team to ensure the seamless transition of footage into the editing process.
    • Provide input on color grading and other post-production elements to maintain the intended visual style.
  • Budget Management:
    • Work within budget constraints to achieve the desired visual quality, proposing cost-effective solutions when necessary.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations on set to ensure the well-being of the cast and crew.
    • Maintain compliance with industry standards and best practices.
