Job Description:
This Broadcast Engineer position will support a 24x7 production and transmission facility. The role will work closely with the head of engineering and the engineering and operations teams to support client operations. Daily operations include transmission, production, master control / integrated playout, colocation, and facility maintenance. The engineering team is also responsible for the design and implementation of new services and improving on current infrastructure. This role in is an onsite position in Los Angeles and requires flexible hours based on production and live events schedule, as well as emergency support. Ideal candidate will have at least 4 years' experience working in a live production and / or broadcast environment and to have strong knowledge of video routing, transmission, production, intercom, and playout systems.
Responsibilities:
Support of broadcast facility and ongoing maintenance
Design, development, and support of broadcast workflows
Work with Sales Engineering and clients in planning and execution of new customer workflow deployments.
Support and escalation point for live event technical issues
Design and Maintain system wide documentation
Work flexible hours based on live event schedule and off-hours emergencies
Balance multiple projects at a time and pivot as needs arise
Facility supports for critical infrastructure (HVAC, UPS, Generators, Redundant Electrical systems, Fire Suppression)
Desired Skill sets:
Deep expertise in Live Production and Broadcast Transmission Engineering
Video Routing Systems (IP-Based 2110, NMOS, PTP knowledge preferred)
Video Transmission and Compression (JPEG-XS,JPEG-2K, SRT, AVC/HEVC, TS, ASI and MPEG)
Supporting workflows in HD, UHD in both SDR and HDR
Cable termination and soldering experience, fiber termination a plus
General networking knowledge, advanced network skills a plus Relevant broadcast certifications are a plus but not required
Demonstrable ability to work independently in a live production environment
Ability to work flexible schedule based on customer event requirements
Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to perform self-directed work and take projects from concept to completion
Assist Operations Team with learning and implementing new systems
Broad knowledge of Media & Entertainment segment, particularly Live Broadcast
Advanced computer operation
Organized and team oriented
Base Salary Range: $97000-$122,220. The salary may be adjusted within this range based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and the specific needs of the position
